Impressive 7 Ply Standard Tru-White™ Core Mats

The standard thickness of mat board is 4 ply or about .050 thick.  Our new 7 ply is .090 thick!  The result is an impressive mat with a deep bevel that attracts attention whether at a show, in a gallery or in your home.  7 ply bevels are over 80% larger than the bevel of an ordinary 4 ply mat. Plus, our Tru-White™ core mats are acid free (more correctly acid neutral) plus, more importantly, they are lignin free.  Acid is the property in paper mats that causes deterioration of the mat and the image within.  Lignin is the property that produces acid.  Making a mat acid-neutral is just a matter of adding buffering at manufacture.  However, the mat produces more acid if the lignin is not taken out!  Our 7 ply precut mats have centered windows so they can be used horizontally (landscape image) or vertically (portrait image)  They come in both "White White" and Black on Tru-White Core.
